Great news for PC gamers who enjoy using the Xbox Game Bar: Microsoft has rolled out its Compact Mode feature for PCs. Previously, only users of the Xbox App had access to this handy feature.
In a recent update on Xbox Wire, Microsoft shared some insights about Compact Mode. For now, it’s a treat exclusively for Xbox Insiders. By integrating Compact Mode into the Xbox Game Bar for PC, Microsoft’s making your gaming experience even more streamlined.
Getting into Xbox Compact Mode is straightforward. Just hit the Windows Key + G to bring up the Xbox Game Bar. Navigate to the General tab, and on the far right under Settings, you’ll find the option to enable Compact Mode.
So, what makes Compact Mode so appealing? It provides quicker and more straightforward access to widgets. You can effortlessly switch between them using the RB and LB buttons on your controller. Exiting a game is a breeze too—just head over to the Home widget, pick your game, and hit the Close option. Plus, the feature lets you view your recently played games and access game launchers on your system. You can even dive into the Widget Store straight from the Widget menu.
