Great news for retro gaming enthusiasts comes from the PlayStation Store: several of Capcom’s classic PSOne games, Dino Crisis and Resident Evil: Director’s Cut, can now be bought for $9.99 each without needing a PlayStation Plus subscription.
These iconic titles used to be accessible only through a PS Plus Premium membership, with Dino Crisis becoming the latest addition to this exclusive lineup. The restriction didn’t sit well with fans, who felt that there was no good reason these games shouldn’t be available for individual purchase, independent of the subscription service.
Just so you know, the PS Plus Premium tier is the top-tier subscription that not only includes all the features of the lower-tier memberships but also offers a selection of retro games from the PS3, PS2, PSOne, and PSP eras.
Looking back, Dino Crisis debuted on the PSOne in 1999, while Resident Evil: Director’s Cut first hit the scene in 1997. Interestingly, it also came with a demo of Resident Evil 2, which was eagerly anticipated, as it was more than six months away from its official release.
