The Nintendo Switch has undoubtedly proven to be a massive hit, showing the gaming world that there’s more to a console than just sheer processing power. With an exceptional blend of Nintendo’s iconic first-party titles, a strong lineup of third-party big hitters, and a plethora of indie games, the Switch has built up an impressive library that rivals the best on other platforms, both in quality and quantity.
Games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey have already cemented themselves as two of the past decade’s masterpieces. Yet, there’s always a possibility that the pinnacle of the Switch’s offerings is still to come. Looking back, 2022 and 2023 were particularly strong years for Nintendo’s machine. Just in 2023, it hosted a lineup of exclusives including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime Remastered, Pikmin 4, Super Mario Wonder, and Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp. The following year, 2024, also saw some gems with titles centered around beloved characters like Princess Peach and Zelda.
Let’s dive into the major titles slated for the Nintendo Switch in 2024 and beyond. Curious about which big Nintendo Switch games have locked in release dates? I’ll focus primarily on those coming to North America.

However, recent additions to the release calendar include Winning Post 10 2025, Riviera: The Promised Land Remaster, Crown Wars: The Black Prince, 911: Prey, Water Blast Shooter – Wet Gun, Food Courier: Bike Adventure, Ironfall Invasion, Crystal Breaker, Monster Truck Arena: Battle Royale, MiceGard, The Scheme, Fantasy Sword, The Epyx Games – Sports Collection, Pet Clinic Simulator, W.A.N.D. As for November 2024, it’s turning out to be a bountiful month, thanks mainly to announcements from the June 2024 Nintendo Direct. Mario & Luigi: Brothership is making waves as a new RPG installment that brings the franchise back to its role-playing roots. After the success of a couple of faithful remakes and remasters, Brothership marks Mario’s first original RPG venture in about a decade—barring Paper Mario: The Origami King. While it’s a commendable addition, it doesn’t quite rise to the greatness we’ve seen in the series.
In addition, while Brothership might be the greatest draw this month, it certainly isn’t the sole highlight. Farmagia brings an intriguing mix of monster training and farming. Meanwhile, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, a stunning revamp, also debuted along with Lego Horizon Adventures, a fresh spin-off inspired by Horizon Zero Dawn.
Here’s a peek at the lineup for the first two weeks of November 2024: From Aero the Acro-Bat: Rascal Rival Revenge to Space Planet Invader, there’s a diverse range of titles expanding the Switch library. Not to mention anticipated titles like Metal Slug Tactics and the charming Monarchy. November 7 marks the arrival of Mario & Luigi: Brothership, equipping fans with yet another Nintendo exclusive to look forward to.
Moving to December 2024, the end of the year slows down, with releases gradually tapering off by mid-month. However, December still offers notable entries like remasters of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver series and Fairy Tail 2, which promises to be an exciting follow-up. Square Enix’s Fantasia Neo Dimension is another title to watch.
Looking further ahead into 2025, early months like January and February already promise some exciting Switch titles. January appears unexpectedly robust with releases across RPG and platforming genres. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is set to be the standout—a reimagining of the beloved 2010 Wii classic. Meanwhile, February will see Civilization 7, potentially the biggest game of the month, with its iconic strategy gameplay aiming to capture players’ hearts even on the Switch.
Certain titles like the Little Nightmares and Pokemon Legends series are on the horizon for a 2025 release. While many projects are yet to confirm specific release dates, the Nintendo Switch’s lineup continues to evolve, offering gamers much to anticipate. Whether these will cement themselves as future classics remains to be seen, but they certainly add to the excitement surrounding the future of gaming on the Switch platform.
