Skydance’s highly-anticipated Behemoth is gearing up for its debut and it’s arriving with a bit of extra excitement. The team at Skydance Games recently shared with Road to VR that they’re already working on post-launch patches slated for the first week after its release on both the Quest and PSVR 2.
A representative from Skydance Games explained that there was a “cascading hardware failure” which threw a wrench in the testing and certification process for Behemoth across all platforms. Despite this hiccup, they’ve assured us that the release date remains unchanged. The studio quickly bounced back, ensuring the game would come with patches shortly after hitting the virtual shelves.
These updates include a “day-one patch for PlayStation” and a “day-seven patch for Meta Quest headsets.” Yet, specifics about what these patches will address remain under wraps.
As for the PC VR release, we’re left in suspense as its Steam page still lists the launch date as “to be announced.”
Originally, Behemoth was scheduled to launch on November 14th. However, Skydance Games announced a delay back in September, pushing the release to December 5th to allow additional time for refinement. This extra polish is aimed at ensuring Behemoth lives up to its reputation as one of the most significant VR releases this year.
Set to launch on Quest 2/3/Pro, PSVR 2, and PC VR, Skydance’s Behemoth promises a gripping 12-hour campaign filled with exploration, combat, environmental puzzles, and a rich layer of VR-native design that fans adored in their previous hit, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.
