This year’s Black Friday kicked off with an incredible deal on the PSVR 2, and even though the big shopping day has passed, the bargain is still available. Sony is continuing to offer the PSVR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle for a tempting $350, slashing the price by 42% from its regular cost.
Sony launched this enticing offer long before Black Friday itself, and now the discount deal remains in place past Cyber Monday. At $350, it’s the most attractive price we’ve seen for the PSVR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle, a significant drop from the typical $600 tag. This discount has created a surge in sales for the headset on Amazon US, with sales volume shooting up almost 20 times compared to previous months.
Interestingly, while these figures mark a notable uptick for PSVR 2, they still trail behind Quest, which managed to sell about ten times more units on Amazon US during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday rush.
The generous 42% off, the prolonged sale period, and the fact that the standalone headset doesn’t seem to be available on Amazon US right now hint at something more strategic. There are several possibilities: perhaps Sony is clearing out inventory, not necessarily because they’re discontinuing the PSVR 2, but maybe to make way for a new version with slight tweaks or a fresh bundle option. They could also be gearing up for a permanent price reduction. Alternatively, it could be that Sony is simply pleased with the sale’s success and wants to keep the momentum going.
