Just a few days before Survivor wraps up its 47th season, Exploding Kittens has dropped some exciting news: they’re teaming up with Jeff Probst, the Emmy-winning host and producer of the show, to launch Survivor: The Tribe Has Spoken, a new card-based party game. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the series or just love a good card game, this creation captures the social strategy that has made Survivor a household name.
This isn’t Exploding Kittens’ first rodeo when it comes to licensed games—they brought us Exploding Minions back in 2021. However, it seems this partnership holds a special place for co-founder and CEO Elan Lee. “I’ve been glued to Survivor since it kicked off 24 years ago. The show’s deeply influenced how I design games and deliver memorable experiences to players,” Lee shared in a press release. “Bringing the essence of Survivor into people’s living rooms has always been a dream, but condensing what usually takes weeks into just 30 minutes was no small feat. After working side-by-side with Jeff Probst for a couple of years, we’ve achieved it. The fun, strategy, alliances, and betrayals are all wrapped up in this fantastic package.”
The game leverages Survivor’s rich 25-year history, with cards featuring some of the most memorable—and not so memorable—contestants. As you play, you’ll forge alliances and plot blindsides, all aiming to be among the last two standing. Those final two will then plead their case to win the coveted title of Sole Survivor and, while there’s no million-dollar prize, substantial bragging rights are up for grabs.
Jeff Probst, the iconic host and executive producer, remarked, “When we started on this journey to create a Survivor card game, it needed to be thrilling for longtime fans and engaging for anyone who enjoys games. Teaming up with Exploding Kittens was a no-brainer to bring the game to life, and we hope it’s as fun to play as it was to design.”
The game cleverly uses the series’ classic elements like advantages, hidden immunity idols, and tribal councils where votes decide outcomes. The box even transforms into a makeshift urn for vote counting, reminiscent of Probst’s rituals. Players will encounter a variety of cards, such as Reward Challenges requiring strategic alliances, “The Spy Shack” allowing sneaky peeks and theft of opponents’ cards, and the “Sorry for You” counter-card, which blocks such deceptions. There are also bonus cards for swiping votes or claiming the title of Tribal Council Leader.
Designed for players aged eight and above, the game comfortably fits three to six participants and plays out in about 30 to 60 minutes. If you’re eager to test your strategy skills, Survivor: The Tribe Has Spoken is ready for preorder at Amazon, Target, and Walmart for just $19.99.
