In Marvel Rivals, players have found a neat trick to speed up their achievements and rake in those coveted Units using the Doom Match mode. If you’re looking to snag some fresh cosmetics from the in-game shop, stacking up on Units by completing achievements is the way to go.
Doom Match is a thrilling new game mode where 8 to 12 players go head-to-head in a chaotic brawl set in the vibrant streets of New York City and the mystical abode of Doctor Strange, the Sanctum Sanctorum. The objective is simple: be the first to secure 16 eliminations to clinch victory while dragging the top half of players along with you. This intense mode was unveiled during the launch of Marvel Rivals’ Season 1, and as of now, there’s no word from the developers on whether it will be sticking around indefinitely.
Recently, an Instagram user, nadorocks, highlighted how players can leverage Doom Match to breeze through Heroic Journey achievements and rack up Units along with two complimentary skins. With the option to join games in groups, coordination becomes your best friend here. Take, for example, the God of Treachery achievement, requiring Loki to dispatch a foe with a sneaky backstab. Teammates in Doom Match can set up the perfect opportunity for a Loki player to land this requisite blow. Plus, with the flexibility to switch characters mid-game, you can amass several achievements all in one go!
Introducing: the Doom Match mode lets Marvel Rivals players efficiently stock up on Units. As players work through achievements, the rewards grow more substantial, starting with the basics and climbing the ladder as more challenges are vanquished. Completing tasks gives players 5 or 10 points each, depending on their complexity, and accumulating 40 points earns them a reward. You start off with 100 Units as the first prize, and then the cosmetic rewards come in, like a cool Storm skin at 200 points. Reach 260 points, and you’re looking at 200 Units, eventually leading up to a Star-Lord skin at the 400-point mark. For completionists who meet every Heroic Journey challenge in Season 1, there’s a hefty 1,500 Units to be claimed.
For those eyeing additional freebies, aiming for Gold rank in Marvel Rivals’ Competitive mode could be rewarding. Reaching Gold status by season’s end scores a free Invisible Woman skin. Previously, Season 0 achievers walked away with a Moon Knight skin, dazzling in black and gold. The allure of free goodies keeps fans eager for future surprises from NetEase Games.
