A major update has landed for Marvel Rivals today, January 23, introducing the exciting Spring Festival. If you’re a fan of mixing up your superhero antics with a little sporty action, there’s a fresh mode that you won’t want to miss.
Put down that overly detailed guide you’ve been penning for your buddy who’s determined to master Venom but just can’t stop falling off ledges. Instead, get ready to score some top bins with a lantern, all while dressed up as a dragon.
The Spring Festival has officially kicked off in the game, packed with various features, but the standout is definitely the new Limited-Time Game Mode: Clash of Dancing Lions. Essentially, as showcased in the trailer, this mode has Iron Fist, Star-Lord, and Black Widow stepping into the shoes of superhero footballers.
In this mode, players battle for control of a Lunar New Year lantern ball, aiming to run it directly into the opponent’s net. The goal is to reach the target score to win the match and claim the victory trophy. To achieve this, you’ll use special abilities, leap through the air, and deliver some hard-hitting tackles, inflicting damage in true superhero fashion.
The setting is Wakanda’s World Arena, resembling a Rocket League-style pitch. It even features the signature large glass walls to prevent any wayward shots from launching into space. Instead of traditional kits, the festival offers three new thematic skins for the participating heroes. You can fully immerse yourself in the Lunar New Year celebrations, with Star-Lord’s Lion’s Mane skin available for free during the event.
Alongside this update, the usual patch has brought various adjustments and fixes to the game, addressing map issues and hero bugs. For a detailed list of changes, you can check out the full patch notes.
