If you were eagerly waiting for another season of “Agatha All Along,” I have some unfortunate news—it’s not happening. It seems the showrunner decided to pass on it.
Spoiler alert ahead for the ending of “Agatha All Along.”
After quite the wait following “WandaVision,” “Agatha All Along” finally hit screens last year and received a warm welcome from the fans. Much of its success can be credited to the stellar direction by creator Jac Schaeffer and an impressive lineup of actors, including the legendary Patti LuPone from musical theatre. However, during a chat on Andy Cohen Live, LuPone shared a revelation that might disappoint many: Marvel isn’t planning a second season. “There won’t be one,” she confirmed. “Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I responded, ‘But I wanted a second season.’”
LuPone also touched on Schaeffer’s reasoning for not pursuing another season, which mirrors her decision with “WandaVision.” “[Schaeffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons.’ She explained, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of WandaVision, and I didn’t.’ She added, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she focuses on standalone projects, and I truly hope that one day, I have the chance to work with her again because she’s pure magic.”
While this news may leave fans of the first season feeling a bit let down, it’s just the nature of the industry sometimes. But for those longing for more of the “WandaVision” universe, there’s a silver lining: “Vision Quest,” a series centered on the character played by Paul Bettany, is in development, and it’s set to bring back a surprising character from the MCU.
