Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, crafted by the ingenious minds at Insomniac in collaboration with Marvel, is nothing short of a visual masterpiece. The game leverages cutting-edge technologies like ray tracing to breathe life into Marvel’s bustling New York City. On the PC, players can tinker with a plethora of ray-tracing settings, allowing for tailored visuals that span various hardware setups.

As you navigate the towering skyscrapers of New York, you’ll be captivated by the stunning ray-traced reflections glistening off the glass surfaces. We’ve also enhanced the interiors, shadows, and ambient occlusion to lend a more authentic feel to the virtual city.

For those boasting top-tier PC setups, prepare to be wowed by our enhanced ray tracing geometry detail setting. This feature employs finer quality meshes for incredibly detailed reflections. Plus, our ray tracing object range slider lets you modify how far objects are considered for ray tracing. And if you’re equipped with compatible hardware, the inclusion of NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction1 promises to uplift the quality of ray tracing even further. “NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction enriches ray tracing with more intricate details by merging two temporal processes: denoising and upscaling,” Menno says. “The advantage of this combination is that it preserves vital information across multiple frames, refining ray-traced reflections and shadows, especially noticeable at acute angles. The technique also reduces ghosting and noise in the ray-traced ambient occlusion. We’re offering two versions of NVIDIA’s Ray Reconstruction: the original one from DLSS 3.5 and an upgraded model for the RTX 40 series GPUs and beyond, resulting in an image that’s temporally stable and visually superior.”

If you’re sporting an ultra-wide monitor, rejoice! Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 supports ultra-wide aspect ratios like 21:9, 32:9, and even 48:9 with multi-monitor setups. Our team has diligently fine-tuned the in-game cinematics to seamlessly fit these expansive views.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC also embraces performance-boosting technologies, including NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3.1 upscaling, and Intel XeSS upscaling. Our aim is to empower players to fully exploit their high-end gaming setups, though we’re equally committed to ensuring that older hardware can run the game thanks to a broad selection of graphics settings and presets.

When it launches on PC this January 30, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available in both Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. Players already owning the Standard Edition can also upgrade to the Digital Deluxe content.

Pre-purchase perks include an early unlock of the Arachknight Suit for Peter in three colors and the Shadow-Spider Suit for Miles, also in three colors. You’ll also get early access to the Web Grabber gadget and an additional three Skill Points.

Additionally, players can enjoy the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 Suit ahead of time, along with perks like trophies and friend management if they choose to connect a PlayStation Network account. That said, playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC doesn’t require a PlayStation Network connection.
