Since Friday night or early Saturday morning—depending on where you are in the world—PSN has been out of commission. It’s been more than ten hours with no network services, leaving players feeling quite exasperated.
## Sony Faces Backlash as PSN Outage Drags On
To begin with, it took Sony a bit of time to officially recognize the issue. Once they did, they updated the PlayStation server status page to indicate that services worldwide are not operational. Players in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand have found their entire Saturday impacted, which is understandably maddening.
Currently, the following PSN services are unavailable:
– Account management
– Gaming and social
– PlayStation Video
– PlayStation Store
– PlayStation Direct
With so many players relying heavily on their digital game collections—many of which require license checks—it’s a frustrating situation as a good portion of them can’t play at all.
It’s close to 4 p.m. here, and I’ve come to terms with the fact that leveling up in Battlefield V isn’t happening today. So, I might as well head out for groceries and finally start building the Lego Concorde that’s been collecting dust on my desk for weeks.
What about you? What plans do you have for the weekend, aside from video gaming (assuming PSN returns soon)?
