Helldivers 2 has rolled out its latest thematic Warbond, called Borderline Justice, which brings a cowboy flair to the game. As players get ready to take on a slew of robots and bugs, they can now do so infused with a bit of that classic cowboy spirit. But in an interesting twist, the new gear set doesn’t include one of the most iconic cowboy accessories: a stetson. Fear not, PC players! A resourceful modder has stepped in to fill the void.
For those not up to speed, although this Warbond includes an emote allowing your helldiver to tip an imaginary hat like a true cowboy, the absence of an actual hat has sparked some discontent among players. Arrowhead’s explanation? Apparently, cowboy hats don’t align with Super Earth’s rigid uniform policy.
Now, if you’re eager to challenge the dress code, look no further than modder Doomdiverr’s latest creation, dubbed ‘Hd2 Cow boys helmets.’ It’s currently the sole cowboy hat mod you can find on Nexus Mods. There’s a small catch, though: you’ll need to be okay with donning one of the older helmets from the game, not the latest ones from Borderline Justice. This mod cleverly integrates stetsons onto the base B-01 helmet – the one you’ll recognize from your initial Helldiver training.
To add some personal flair, you’ve got four color options for the hat: brown or black are available, and you can even go for a bandito vibe by painting a skull where your face should be. These options seem to pair seamlessly with both the Borderline Justice armor sets and the fresh Democracy’s Deputy armor in the Super Store.
While you might run into some clipping issues when you try to tip your modded stetson, it’s a small price to pay for style, right?
So, are you considering embracing your inner cowboy and charging into the fray across Helldivers 2’s planetary battlegrounds? We’d love to hear your thoughts! Drop a comment below and let’s chat!
