A highly anticipated multiplayer shooter for the PS5 is in the pipeline for a 2025 release, with a possibility of debuting on PS Plus. Wildgate, a team-oriented space shooter, has been unveiled by ex-Blizzard Entertainment developers under the banner of Moonshot Games. The studio is actively weighing options regarding its inclusion in subscription services.
## Wildgate’s Potential Boost from PS Plus Introduction
Promising to deliver “intense” first-person combat set in the vast expanse of space, Wildgate is slated for a 2025 release, with a sneak-peek playtest scheduled from April 10 to 14.
In a media session, Moonshot was asked by Wccftech about possibly launching Wildgate on PS Plus or Game Pass to leverage a substantial player base from the start. This prompted Justin Lane, the business manager, to confirm that they are indeed considering such options.
“Those platforms are excellent for drawing players into the community and scaling up rapidly, thanks to their vast reach via subscription. We’ve mulled over this strategy and continue to do so,” Lane explained, noting that a final call is yet to be made.
Should Wildgate make its debut on PS Plus, it would join the roster as the fifth game of 2025 to do so. The list of games that have already launched or are set to premiere on the service this year includes:
– FBC: Firebreak
– Blue Prince
– Abiotic Factor
– Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1 & 2
