Kluge Interactive, the creative force behind the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders, is gearing up to release their latest venture into the virtual realm. Their new game, FINAL FURY, a VR fighting experience, is set to launch in early access on Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Mark your calendars for May 8th, as that’s when Final Fury will hit Quest 2 and newer models, along with PC VR headsets. This arcade-style fighting game aims to bring the classic 1v1 combat experience to VR, featuring a unique gesture-driven gameplay system.
With insights from nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong, this early access release combines gesture controls with real-world movement, allowing players to step into the shoes of six distinct fighters, each with their own moves and environments. And that’s just the start—more content is promised after launch.
“When Kluge Interactive reached out to me about FINAL FURY, I was intrigued by their idea of blending traditional fighting game elements with a first-person VR setup,” Wong shared. “After getting hands-on and offering feedback on aspects like dashes, grabs, and character styles, I can’t wait to see how players dive into the game once it’s in Early Access.”
Expect some exciting features at the early access launch:
-
You are the Fighter! – Dive into fully immersive VR battles with authentic punches, dodges, and blocks.
-
Innovative VR Combat – Experience beloved fighter mechanics reimagined for physical interaction in VR.
-
Expanding Roster – Start off with six fighters, each boasting unique abilities, arenas, and playstyles, with more on the way.
-
Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetic items.
-
Online Multiplayer – Engage in competitive play with cross-platform support and rollback netcode for smooth action.
- Pulse-Pounding OST – Enjoy an original soundtrack by Zardonic, known for works like SUPERHOT: MCD.
You can add Final Fury to your wishlist on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and newer, as well as on Steam for PC VR headsets. Set to release on May 8th, it will be priced at $9.99.
