The latest buzz in the world of gaming handhelds comes from OneXPlayer, as they’ve recently dropped a teaser video on YouTube for their upcoming gaming device, the Onexfly F1 Pro. This snazzy new gadget is equipped with AMD’s powerhouse Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, a part of the impressive Ryzen AI 300 series, also known as Strix Point. The Onexfly F1 Pro features a 7-inch screen and was showcased running the visually stunning game, Black Myth: Wukong, at a smooth 50 to 60 frames per second (FPS).
What’s making waves is the device’s cutting-edge, HDR-supported 7-inch OLED display, which boasts a rapid refresh rate of 144 Hz. Weighing in at a comfortable 598 grams and featuring top-notch Harman Kardon speakers, this handheld promises both quality and performance. At its core is the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, complete with four Zen 5 cores, eight Zen 5c cores, and the latest AMD Radeon 890M integrated graphics, all based on RDAN 3.5 architecture. With these hefty specs, the Onexfly F1 Pro positions itself as a formidable contender against the likes of the Steam Deck OLED, ROG Ally X, and Lenovo Legion Go.
In their showcase, OneXPlayer demonstrated the Onexfly F1 Pro running a benchmark for Black Myth: Wukong at 1080p under low-quality settings with 65% upscaling, effectively rendering at a resolution of 1248 x 702. It cranked out an average of 58 FPS at these settings, while power consumption was efficiently capped at 15W for this test.
This upcoming device marks a significant milestone for OneXPlayer as it will be their first to feature both an OLED display and the latest Zen 5-based mobile CPUs from AMD. It enters the market alongside the GPT Pocket 4 as one of the early arrivals boasting the Ryzen AI HX 370. However, the F1 Pro is designed as a true handheld with traditional grips and controls, in contrast to the Pocket 4, which doubles as a 2-in-1 hybrid device complete with a keyboard and a fully rotating screen.
With their benchmark teaser, OneXPlayer effectively underscores that the AI 9 HX 370 is perfectly tuned for handheld devices, capable of handling even the most demanding AAA games at a mid-range 15W thermal design power, extending battery life in the process. Since AMD hasn’t yet released its next-gen handheld-focused Z-series CPUs, manufacturers are currently integrating AMD’s laptop-oriented Ryzen AI 300 series into these portable gaming marvels.
