A recent update for Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment aims to address several issues that players have been experiencing. Although this update isn’t as expansive as the significant mid-season patch that dropped on January 7, it’s designed to enhance gameplay for many fans of the popular battle royale.
Since the quieter introduction of Season 23, the past few weeks have been quite eventful. The notable mid-season update introduced changes to keep things fresh, such as adjustments to the abilities of certain Legends and various weapons. Following this substantial update, another patch was released to tackle some persistent problems affecting the gaming experience.
According to Respawn, the latest patch, applied on January 16, resolves numerous lobby-related glitches, such as the dysfunctional voice and text chat and some visual issues unique to PC lobbies. Additionally, a significant fix has been implemented for a gameplay issue where Lifeline’s Tactical drone would inadvertently expose a cloaked Mirage. This was problematic, especially since Mirage’s cloaking got a considerable boost in the mid-season update, and Lifeline remains a highly favored Legend. Prior to this fix, players frequently encountered this disruptive issue during play.
The update doesn’t stop there, as it also addresses issues with certain in-game cosmetics. Reactive skins, which were bugged and not displaying visual effects properly after weapon swapping, should now work correctly. However, the patch has temporarily removed the Attrition G7 Scout skin due to ongoing issues with its functionality, though no timeline for its return has been provided.
While these updates are certainly welcome news for players who were suffering from these bugs, the Apex Legends community is eager to see what else Respawn has lined up. The next season, Season 24, is about a month away, but players won’t have to wait long for new content. Respawn has announced a collaboration with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for the upcoming Lunar Rebirth Collection Event, set to launch on January 21. This event promises returning themed cosmetics inspired by the iconic Square Enix franchise, a new Prestige skin for Alter, as well as the return of Materia Hop-Ups in Rift Relics and the fan-favorite Buster Sword R2R5.
These fresh additions are much anticipated by those looking for improvements in Apex Legends, which has seen a dip in player numbers on platforms like Steam recently. The developer is undoubtedly keen to entice players back by offering exciting new content and enhancements to the game.
