ASRock has created some buzz online with the introduction of its new Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs. Enthusiasts eagerly anticipating an AMD upgrade will be interested to see the company’s Steel Legend and Taichi models making an appearance ahead of the official launch.
ASRock is gearing up to deliver a robust lineup of AMD’s latest RDNA 4 GPUs, particularly focusing on the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. While other hardware partners have yet to unveil their offerings, ASRock has already given us a sneak peek with images circulating online. They are showcasing three distinctive lines: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger.
Let’s start with the Taichi series, which is shaping up to be ASRock’s flagship model. Its design features an elegant triple-fan layout complemented by a hefty heatsink, justifying its three-slot card configuration. This model promises top-tier performance, as indicated by the inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector. Not all models will feature this connector since AMD allows partners to decide based on their power needs. It’s said to handle up to 600W power delivery, hinting at substantial overclocking potential.
On to the Steel Legend variant, this one caters to the mid-range market. ASRock gives it a stylish look with white and silver colors, and it fits a 2.5-slot triple-fan design. However, unlike the Taichi, it won’t have the 12V-2×6 connector. Instead, it will use a standard dual 8-pin setup—a common choice for AMD AIB models, save for the more premium options like Taichi.
As for when these GPUs will hit the shelves, it’s reasonable to expect that they could arrive as early as next week. This would align with AMD’s rumored timeline for opening pre-orders for the RX 9070 series.
