Bandai Namco, a major player in the gaming industry, is well-known for its ownership of popular franchises such as Dark Souls, Pac-Man, Tales, and Tekken. However, 2024 proved to be somewhat of a roller coaster year for the company. They launched some impressive titles, including Gundam Breaker 4, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero!, and the highly-praised Tekken 8. On the flip side, some of their other 2024 releases didn’t fare as well, with Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash and Unknown 9: Awakening receiving unfavorable feedback from critics. Games like Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream and Death Note: Killer Within also left audiences divided.
Despite these mixed reviews, the future looks bright for Bandai Namco with a lineup of upcoming games that seems exciting. They’ve teased the release of seven new titles. Among them are Little Nightmares 3, a horror platformer crafted by Supermassive Games, and the dark action RPG Dawnwalker, developed by Rebel Wolves. Although precise launch dates for these two games remain undisclosed, some of Bandai Namco’s other projects are on track to hit shelves in the first half of 2025. Provided there are no unforeseen setbacks, it appears Bandai Namco is poised for an impressive start to the next year.
Kicking off Bandai Namco’s roster for early 2025 are remastered versions of some fan favorites. Freedom Wars Remastered takes the stage with revamped graphics, breathing new life into this Monster Hunter-style action RPG that initially made its debut in 2014. Originally exclusive to the PlayStation Vita, it is now set to become available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, hitting the market on January 10, 2025. Just a week later, gamers can get their hands on Tales of Graces f Remastered, arriving on PS4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 17.
Originally, Tales of Graces launched exclusively in Japan on the Wii before making its way to the PS3 for Western audiences. With the upcoming remaster, modern gamers can finally enjoy this classic across a wide array of platforms.
In addition to these remasters, Bandai Namco is also introducing Synduality: Echo of Ada as one of their first new titles for 2025. This game offers a thrilling blend of sci-fi elements, PvPvE action, and RPG mechanics, topped off with massive, controllable mechs. It’s part of a broader franchise that spans anime, manga, light novels, and even serial novels. Developed by Game Studio Inc., it’s set for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on January 27.
Looking ahead, Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is another eagerly-awaited title slated for early 2025. Known for developing licensed anime games, Bandai Namco is adding a fresh twist to the genre with this 3D arena fighter, incorporating a unique one-hit kill feature into its gameplay. This innovatively designed game marks the return of Bleach to home consoles after more than ten years. While a specific release date hasn’t been announced, fans can anticipate its arrival in the first half of 2025.
Although no other titles have been officially confirmed for release in the first half of 2025, there’s speculation that both Little Nightmares 3 and Fate/EXTRA Record could see the light of day within this timeframe. Originally pegged for a 2024 release, Little Nightmares 3 was postponed, suggesting its development might be nearing completion. Fate/EXTRA Record, a JRPG that has been in development for almost five years, is in a similar position. While fans should await official confirmations, there’s a chance these games might arrive sooner than anticipated.
