Bandai Namco, a major player in the Japanese gaming industry, is making a significant change by shutting down its online division, known as Bandai Namco Online. This move will see all its operations merged into the main Bandai Namco brand. Surprisingly, there’s no information yet on how this will impact the employees.
Established in 2009, Bandai Namco Online was dedicated to producing online games. Noteworthy titles include Dragon Ball Z: X KeeperZ, Gundam Evolution, and Blue Protocol. The decision to close down this division comes as the company seeks to adapt to evolving industry conditions and enhance its overall digital business management.
In a related development, Bandai Namco has also announced earlier this year the end of Blue Protocol, an MMO project developed in collaboration with Amazon. The game is scheduled to shut down on January 18th, 2025.
