If you got a thrill from unlocking all the achievements in Okami HD, you’re in for a treat: an official Okami sequel is on the horizon! A quick sneak peek via a teaser trailer has just been unveiled.
During The Game Awards, it was revealed that a new Okami project is in the works, according to Capcom. The original Okami was celebrated for its artistic world, touching narrative, and exhilarating adventures. Now, they’re setting the stage for another journey that promises to capture that same magic.
We’ve been hearing whispers about this possibility for a while now, tracing back to when Ikumi Nakamura expressed her intention to pitch an Okami sequel to Capcom. At that time, Nakamura had one stipulation: the sequel must once again have Hideki Kamiya in the director’s chair.
The developers have dropped a hint: “It might be a while before we have more details to share, but we hope you’re as thrilled as we are about this project.”
For now, we’ve got just over a minute of enchanting footage from that teaser trailer. All we know so far is that Hideki Kamiya will be leading the project and production is gearing up to start. While details are still scarce, the announcement added a delightful twist to the end of The Game Awards. What are your thoughts on this exciting news?
