In the game Synth Beasts, you step into the shoes of a not-so-successful experiment known as a “Synth” who’s made a daring escape from a lab situated on a mystifying island. As you venture through the neighboring archipelago, you encounter other Synths, but beware—they’re not exactly welcoming. You’ll need to battle these formidable foes, and once you emerge victorious, they join your roster as playable characters. This allows you to harness their unique skills, essential for both fighting and exploration.
Engaging in battles with your Synths helps them gain experience and level up. Each Synth can grow through five levels, acquiring special bonuses that highlight their distinctiveness. As they climb the levels, earning experience gets tougher, so it’s wise to rotate your Synths often. This way, you unlock a wider range of abilities and maximize your team’s capabilities.
Take “Psitek” as a case in point. It can ignite torches right out of the gate, but once it hits level three, it learns to shatter projectiles with its fiery slash, a game-changer for particular dungeons. Beyond that, Psitek’s upgrades are more combat-focused. So consider switching out your Synths to unveil new powers without having to grind so hard for experience!
Early on, the game hands you a boat that once belonged to the scientists. The Genesis Archipelago is peppered with tiny islands, each concealing its own bonuses, like extra hearts, items that boost stats, and currency for the shops. If you’re not the type to scour every inch, you can head straight to the main islands to confront the scientists at the heart of their dubious operations.
While you’ll face off against main island boss Synths, there are many optional islands they might call home as well. Capturing the complete set of over 40 Synths is no small task, yet the Genesis Archipelago is filled with enticing rewards for those who dare to explore.
As you traverse the Genesis Archipelago, set the Synth Beasts free and shut down the scientists’ dark experiments for good! Synth Beasts is set to launch in 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and the Microsoft Store.
