PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have some exciting news coming their way this year. Four games are set to join the service’s Game Catalog perk as soon as they launch, one of the most anticipated being Remedy Entertainment’s multiplayer first-person shooter, FBC: Firebreak, now targeting a Summer 2025 release window.
FBC: Firebreak unfolds within The Oldest House, the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, which gamers will remember from the highly praised action game, Control. Unlike the deep, story-driven experiences that Remedy Entertainment typically delivers, this time, they’re emphasizing gameplay. The focus is on crafting a live-service game that sidesteps those pesky FOMO elements so common in such games. The plan is for all content to be accessible for free, allowing players to engage at their own rhythm.
The latest trailer gives us a glimpse of the Paper Chase Job, one of several missions featured in FBC: Firebreak. In this quest, the Firebreak Initiative is tasked with clearing a section of The Oldest House overrun by rogue sticky notes. The trailer also highlights the loadouts players will be handling as they work to fend off the Hiss threat.
Once FBC: Firebreak launches, it will be available across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via both the Epic Games Store and Steam.
As noted earlier, FBC: Firebreak is just one of the four titles available at launch through the Game Catalog. The lineup also includes Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor. Part one of Lost Records is currently available for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, with its second installment scheduled for release next month.
PS Plus members also have the added perk of early access to the PS Store’s Spring Sale. Gamers can snag fantastic deals right now on popular titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
