As we dive into January 2025, it’s time to check out Sony’s monthly update on the PlayStation Plus game roster, revealing what exciting additions are in store for this month. Sony is kicking off the new year with a fresh line-up featuring three prominent titles, so let’s take a closer look.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 7, when these games become available for all members across Premium, Extra, and Essential tiers. Make sure to grab December’s offerings by January 6, as they’ll be gone after that date.
This month’s PlayStation Plus selection brings you Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered. Without a doubt, Suicide Squad stands as the headline game, appearing on the service within a mere month after its initial release.
When Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League debuted last February, it was met with mixed reactions, casting a shadow over the start of 2024. Strangely, here we are again with it ushering in 2025. It’s worth noting that this title is exclusive to PS5 as it’s a current-gen release only.
However, the year can only improve from there, and indeed it does. Step into the brilliantly crafted narrative of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe on either PS4 or PS5. Blending elements of a sequel and remake, along with a generous dash of creative storytelling, this game was a standout in 2022 and tops the current line-up.
Rounding things off with some high-speed fun, we have Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered. Available on PS4 but also playable on PS5, it’s an ideal way to unwind after the intensity of the other two games. This remastered edition revisits the 2010 Criterion Games version of Hot Pursuit, offering the exhilarating arcade racing experience Criterion is known for. Expect thrilling car handling, a fantastic sense of speed, diverse activities, and a killer soundtrack to boot.
Enjoy this month’s diverse gaming selection and here’s to an exciting start to the gaming year!
