Overall, my experience with Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been smooth, with very few bugs to speak of. At launch, the game felt well put-together. However, nobody’s perfect, and the latest patch for Veilguard addresses a couple of issues that have been on my radar.
First up, the update finally allows players to compare new rings with both equipped ring slots. This change is a big win for me, especially since I’m still knee-deep in the game, constantly acquiring and equipping new gear. Like many role-playing games, Veilguard lets you adorn your character with multiple rings, each with unique magical perks. Previously, you could only compare a new ring to one of the two you had on. Naturally, that was pretty frustrating. Thankfully, that’s all sorted now.
The second highlight of the patch is the fix for certain sound mishaps: “Fixed some instances where unintended music or sound effects would play.” This tweak likely addresses the most notable bug I encountered in Veilguard, which emerged just once but left an impression. After wrapping up a battle, the upbeat combat music refused to quit and followed me around town for a good 20 minutes. Thankfully, after a quick visit to the Lighthouse, peace was restored. I was relieved because switching off the magnificent soundtrack wasn’t an option I wanted to consider. Fun fact: it features the work of Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe.
Diving into the full patch notes, there’s a broad range of fixes, including some quirky issues like “Rook’s body shape no longer changes unexpectedly after a cutscene with Emmrich” and “Adjusted an odd facial expression when Rook first meets Emmrich.” These gave me a chuckle, and I kind of regret not witnessing them myself. It’s worth browsing the complete list, which I’ve shared below, to see if any of your own irritations have been resolved. I’m thrilled that my concerns were addressed.
