Are you eagerly waiting to dive into Dune Awakening and tired of just hearing about it? Well, whether you’re excited or a tad burned out by the anticipation, here’s some news to get you enraptured again. You’ll finally have the chance to experience the game firsthand during an open beta weekend, kicking off on May 9 and wrapping up on May 12.
To secure your entry, you should either have the game wishlisted before May 9 or snag one of the “thousands” of beta codes that the team will distribute over the weekend. So, while it’s technically an open beta, access is really reserved for those fortunate enough to successfully obtain it. Think of it as having the door conveniently left ajar.
Interestingly, this open trial arrives just before the initially planned release date of May 15. The release got a little postponed as Funcom decided they needed some extra time to fine-tune and polish the game, ensuring it’s absolutely top-notch for the grand launch.
During the beta, you’ll have access to explore the first two regions, which should offer about 20 hours of gameplay if you delve into everything available. You’ll get to visit a few Research Facilities, test out early skills across different classes, and even engage in some PvP at ship crash sites. It’s a solid glimpse into what the full game promises. For those eager for more insight, our latest Dune Awakening preview is live today, exploring the same slice of the game in detail.
