Not many MMORPGs out there let you casually run them on a second monitor while you binge Crunchyroll or get lost in a podcast about international baking contests. Most demand your attention as you embark on quests, battle endless mobs, and tackle dungeons with folks you probably won’t cross paths with again. RuneScape broke the mold for those looking to develop their character without needing constant input. Andrew Gower, a key figure in RuneScape’s creation, eventually parted ways with Jagex to start Fen Research. Now, he’s back with his latest endeavor, Brighter Shores—a free-to-play, point-and-click MMORPG, which you can grab on Steam.
