When Nintendo lifted the curtain on the much-anticipated Switch 2 this January, the specifics about its launch lineup were still mostly shrouded in mystery. However, with the console’s release set for June 5, we now have a more complete picture of what’s on the docket for day one.
First up, there’s the exciting arrival of Mario Kart World, a fresh addition to the beloved franchise. But the lineup doesn’t end there. Nintendo is also introducing a sort-of-tech-demo called Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour to showcase the console’s capabilities. Additionally, several major third-party titles are making their much-awaited debut on Nintendo. These include the likes of Street Fighter 6, Cyberpunk 2077, and Split Fiction, each bringing something unique to the table.
If those options aren’t quite your speed, don’t worry—Switch 2 is backward compatible, meaning your original Switch library won’t gather dust. On top of that, some classic Switch titles, including both Zelda games from the original lineup, are getting special “Nintendo Switch 2 Editions” with upgraded visuals. These enhanced editions are part of the launch roster too.
