Free-To-Play Social VR Game Cards & Tankards Launches New Expansion This Month

There’s exciting news from the world of Cards & Tankards, the free-to-play social VR card game. The creators are gearing up to release a brand-new expansion before the end of this month.

Divergent Realities, the minds behind Cards & Tankards, offer an engaging social collectible card game experience that’s accessible on both flatscreen platforms and VR headsets. They’ve revealed that their upcoming expansion, ‘Ashes of Ur-Enku,’ is packed with new features. Players can look forward to 50 fresh cards, diamond-animated variations, an array of new cosmetics, an updated season pass, along with some balancing tweaks and rank resets.

The studio explained the setting of the new expansion, “Ashes of Ur-Enku takes place in the wild lands of Ur-Enku. It follows the Plundering Guild as they undertake a risky expedition to hunt for fire. Using a forbidden method, they uncover ancient Dwarven archives buried beneath decades of wild growth. These archives detail experiments with Aether, a powerful primordial force—but only one explorer survives the journey.”

Since its debut nearly two years ago, Cards & Tankards has consistently seen a variety of updates. The latest update, Version 2.4, arrived in December with numerous fixes, while Version 2.3 rebalanced more than half of the game’s cards. The ‘Crusade of Sun & Stone’ expansion was introduced last March, and a ‘Ranked Mode’ debuted in late 2023.

Currently, players can enjoy Cards & Tankards on the Meta Quest platform, Steam, and Google Play. The new Ashes of Ur-Enku expansion is scheduled to be available on March 27.
