With just the right touch of excitement, Arrowhead, the creators of Helldivers 2, have announced the game’s first-ever crossover. They’ve teamed up with the cult-classic PlayStation shooter, Killzone, and the initial gear drop is already available for all you eager players out there.
Amidst the ongoing battle to safeguard Super Earth, it seems the newly released Urban Legends Warbond wasn’t quite enough to satisfy the community’s appetite for fresh gear. Arrowhead, responding to the pulse of its gaming community, has decided to vamp things up with this crossover event.
In a recent announcement, Arrowhead shared, “We made a promise to ourselves to only pursue crossovers when they truly make sense for our game.” This statement has stirred quite the conversation, especially after whispers and leaks had begun to make the rounds. They went on to add, “In that spirit, we’re thrilled to roll out our first crossover with none other than Killzone 2.”
However, unlike previous Warbond packs, these crossover items are regarded as a special class of Premium content. These are not Warbonds but are available in the superstore under a new category meant for collaboration-themed items.
The first wave of this exciting crossover is live, featuring the AC-1 Dutiful armor set and the Sta-52 assault rifle along with a range of other aesthetic upgrades you’d expect. And mark your calendars—part two is set to launch on December 23. Yet, the price tag attached to these goodies has sparked some debate. The Sta-52 rifle is causing quite a stir, costing 615 super credits, while the Dutiful armor—sans helmet—will set you back 500 super credits. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the player base, especially when comparing to the 1000 super credits usual Warbond costs for a single item.
Arrowhead seems to be keeping tabs on feedback and is already testing some changes in response to player concerns with this latest update. “We’ve heard your frustrations regarding the short rotation of items in the store,” the developers noted, acknowledging the challenge of waiting for your coveted gear to come back around. To address this, they’re temporarily extending the display period for the Killzone items to five days per page, offering two pages of tantalizing goodies to explore.
