### Streaming NVIDIA’s RTX 5050 Might Easily Integrate with Its Predecessor
During CES 2025, NVIDIA showed off its upcoming RTX 50 mobile platform, highlighting top-tier models like the GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 GPUs. However, details about more budget-friendly models, like the 50-class and 60-class SKUs, were scarce. Thanks to insider @BullsLab, we now know LG is working on a laptop, the 2025 Gram, that will feature the NVIDIA RTX 5050 GPU. But initially, this laptop will come with the RTX 4050 GPU.
There was talk that NVIDIA originally planned to launch the RTX 5050 at CES 2025 but then decided otherwise, which explains why it was mentioned in LG’s promotional content. With the 2025 LG Gram expected to support an RTX 5050 model later, it seems pretty likely that the new 50-class series will have pin-to-pin compatibility. This translates to the GPUs having identical physical connections and power needs, streamlining upgrades for manufacturers like LG.
As for specs, the GeForce RTX 5050 mobile GPU is rumored to come with 8GB of GDDR7 memory and use the GB207 silicon. Codenamed “GN22-X2,” that’s about all we’ve got on the specifics for now. Still, it’s reasonable to anticipate an uptick in performance and efficiency.
