Mario Kart World is shaking things up with an exciting camera angle feature that players can tweak during races. Fans are optimistic that this could finally solve the issue of cameras clipping into walls and ceilings, which has been a frustration in previous games.
A Mario Kart enthusiast recently spotted this game-changing addition in a low-res clip shared on Reddit by N1ckSketch. The five-second footage showed off the camera adjustment capability, a significant first for the series. Unlike its predecessors, where players could only glance backward, Mario Kart World lets racers adjust their view to check their surroundings without losing sight of the track ahead.
This new mechanic is part of a slew of updates coming to Mario Kart World, set to launch alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. The game introduces open-world exploration and off-road elements that aim to revitalize the classic kart racing experience we’ve loved since 1992’s Super Mario Kart.
In addition to this fresh feature, Mario Kart World joins a stellar lineup of titles releasing with the new console, including Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders, and Donkey Kong Bananza. The Direct event from Nintendo also teased FromSoftware’s much-anticipated The Duskbloods, making the console’s debut even more exciting.
