Meta has announced the top 50 best-selling paid Quest games, with a new feature on the Meta Horizon Store showcasing these favorites. Dominating the chart is none other than Beat Saber, which has taken the world by storm, even among those who don’t own a VR headset. As of 2023, Beat Saber had generated more than $250 million, a figure bolstered by its DLC offerings.
In the second and third slots are the timeless VR gems Job Simulator and Superhot VR. Both have been staples in the VR industry since the early days of consumer VR with tracked controllers back in 2016. They frequently appear in top-seller lists on platforms like PlayStation VR2 and Steam. Also making the top 10 are formidable titles like The Thrill of the Fight, Onward, and Vader Immortal Episode I. Meanwhile, Blade & Sorcery: Nomad impressively secures the #4 spot as the standalone adaptation of its PC VR counterpart.
Interestingly, Virtual Desktop by Guy Godin grabs the #6 position. This app not only allows users to view their PC in a virtual setup but, more notably, it transforms the Quest into a wireless PC VR headset—predating similar functionality from Meta’s Air Link and Valve’s Steam Link.
Population: One also makes an impressive mark at #16, especially since it transitioned to a free-to-play model a bit over two years ago. All its sales occurred from late 2020 to early 2023, showing incredible early success.
Noticeably absent from the list are Meta’s major Quest exclusives, Asgard’s Wrath 2 and Batman: Arkham Shadow. The likely reason is that Asgard’s Wrath 2 was offered for free to anyone who bought a Quest 3 during the first eight months of its release, while Batman: Arkham Shadow came bundled with all Quest 3 and Quest 3S purchases since Meta Connect 2024.
While the list includes games from the entire lifespan of the Quest platform, beginning with the original Oculus Quest in 2019, it reveals insights into the changing demographics of Quest users. For instance, Among Us 3D is comfortably sitting at #7, and I Am Cat, which debuted 11 months ago in early access, is already at #23.
