Xbox has just introduced its new compact mode feature, which, after initially being exclusive to Xbox Insiders, is now available to all PC gamers. Alongside this, comes an array of management tools and extra functionalities to enhance the gaming experience.
According to the official announcement on Xbox Wire, the compact mode is now accessible to all PC players. This feature streamlines access to widgets and navigation by allowing players to toggle between widgets using the RB and LB buttons on their controllers. Plus, Xbox is rolling out support for a virtual keyboard.
Game Management Options
As for game management, there’s an exciting new capability: you can now download and install all your game add-ons in one fell swoop. This lets you view every add-on simultaneously. To try this out, just right-click on any game in your library, select "Manage," and head over to the "Add-ons" section.
The Xbox Mobile App
Xbox is also migrating some PC app features to its mobile app, though these updates are initially exclusive to Xbox members on mobile. Over time, they plan to make these updates available to all users. Interestingly, the announcement mentioned, “As part of these changes, we will no longer support new downloads of the Xbox Game Pass app, starting in November.”
For Xbox App on mobile, the main functionalities include managing your membership and delving into your library. Those with the Ultimate Tier of Game Pass can make the most of perks and even stream selected games on their iOS or Android devices via a supported browser.
Additional features include sharing game clips, screenshots, comparing achievements, initiating video calls while gaming, and more. You can also install games on your console remotely through the app.
Xbox Consoles Pre-Download Feature
Furthermore, Xbox gamers can now skip the wait and start playing as soon as game updates go live, thanks to the new pre-download feature. Additionally, wish list notifications will pop up on your console when a game you’ve been eyeing is released.
Keep in mind: Trials of Mana, Legend of Mana, and Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster are hitting Xbox today.
