Nintendo has officially announced that the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation for the Nintendo Switch 2 will air tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This presentation is expected to last about an hour.

Last month, Nintendo finally unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, effectively putting an end to the swirl of rumors and leaks about the portable console’s successor. The reveal provided a much-anticipated glimpse of the new console’s design. It also hinted at an upcoming Mario Kart game and confirmed that this new hardware would support backward compatibility with games from the original Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo went on to clarify that the Switch 2 would play both physical and digital games from the Switch library. However, they did add a word of caution, noting that some games might not function on or be fully compatible with the new console.
While a specific release date hasn’t been set yet, the Nintendo Switch 2 is slated to launch globally sometime in 2025.
