Paradox Interactive, the acclaimed Swedish game publisher, has officially announced its purchase of the Bulgarian game studio, Haemimont Games. While they’ve chosen not to disclose the financial specifics, it’s clear the arrangement involves a combination of immediate cash payment and rewards tied to future performance.
This move aligns with Paradox’s strategic goal of broadening its influence within the management game genre. Haemimont Games, known for its expertise in this area, will continue operating under its current leadership structure while working on its upcoming projects.
Expressing enthusiasm over the acquisition, Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester remarked, “We are thrilled to welcome Haemimont Games into the Paradox family. They boast a close-knit team with extensive experience in crafting management games and have a history of successful projects. Their creative expertise and niche technological developments perfectly complement what we do here at Paradox. They’ve also got an exciting new IP in progress, and their established company culture aligns well with ours. We have great confidence in their team and leadership, and our priority is supporting them as they continue to create exceptional games in this new chapter.”
Gabriel Dobrev, the founder of Haemimont, shared similar sentiments, saying, “Joining Paradox is an exciting next step for us. The synergy between our cultures is outstanding, and we already feel at home. This collaboration gives us the means to elevate our games, offering players even more enriching and dynamic experiences. Moreover, it provides new opportunities for our team to innovate in technology and creativity, which we are keen to explore. Stay tuned for some extraordinary games from us!”
