This week’s game releases are a mix of the eerie and the enchanting. It’s intriguing how some games come with inherently somber themes, yet what you actually do in them isn’t always as gloomy. That’s certainly true for a couple of the titles hitting the shelves this week. However, you can’t say the same for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, a game that’s unapologetically steeped in despair. There are some brighter moments sprinkled in, so technically, it qualifies as having cheerful bits. Just don’t expect to spend your entire playtime strumming Ellie’s guitar serenely.
Among the upcoming games, Koira is making an early entrance, releasing just before the rest land on Thursday. It presents a heartfelt tale of venturing through a forest with a lost puppy, and honestly, thinking too deeply about it is enough to make anyone tear up. Then there’s the shadowed world of Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic shooter, notorious for its relentless stream of dire events. Also releasing on the same day is Sand, which spices up the extraction shooter genre with an exciting twist: spider tanks. Meanwhile, Caligo and Sephiria might seem gentle at first glance, but they’re deceivingly intense. Interestingly, one of these games has you stepping into the paws of a bunny warrior, which sounds like good fun.
These are the game launches we’re most looking forward to for the week of March 31. Make sure to keep an eye out for significant updates in some of the major releases.
