It looks like the buzz around Split Fiction is heading to the big screen, as talks of a film adaptation are underway. Variety broke the news, revealing that Story Kitchen is in the driver’s seat, assembling the cast and lining up a talented team of writers and directors. Story Kitchen has a track record with game adaptations—they’re the same folks behind the Amazon project for It Takes Two and are also working on adaptations for Toejam and Earl, Slim Rancher, and Vampire Survivors.
The excitement doesn’t stop there—there’s been a flurry of offers from top Hollywood studios, eager to get in on the action.
Split Fiction made quite the splash when it launched back in March, selling a million copies in just the first two days and then reaching two million by the end of its first week. Hazelight’s reaction was nothing short of ecstatic. As they shared on Bluesky after hitting that second milestone, “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing.”
The gratitude towards fans was clear as they added, “Thank you to all of our new and old fans – we love how excited you are for our game.” Meanwhile, the upcoming film adaptation of It Takes Two will feature Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, with the script in the hands of Sonic the Hedgehog writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Exciting times for gamers and moviegoers alike!
