It looks like there’s a bit of a wait ahead for those eagerly anticipating NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 series of GPUs. The latest buzz reveals a slight setback in the release schedule, pushing the launch a few weeks past the initially hoped-for dates.
## GeForce RTX 5060 Series: Staggered Launch Timeline
Just before the GeForce RTX 5070 makes its grand entrance, we’re hearing that the RTX 5060 series is facing some delays. Initially slated to hit the market in March and become available by April, these GPUs will now take a little longer to arrive.
While the exact reasons for the delay aren’t fully known, Board Channels has conveyed that NVIDIA’s partners have indeed been informed about the situation. Though this hasn’t been officially stamped by NVIDIA yet, the likelihood of it turning out to be true seems high. Previous whispers citing bugs and supply issues might have contributed to this delay, but again, nothing concrete from NVIDIA’s end.
Here’s a tidbit from Board Channels:
NVIDIA has sent out an internal email to all their AIC partners about the postponement of the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 series. According to the communication, these GPUs are now expected to roll out around mid-April for the RTX 5060 Ti and around mid-May for the RTX 5060. The exact timing will be clarified by NVIDIA as they finalize the details.
Currently, it’s estimated that the RTX 5060 Ti will launch in mid-April, with the GeForce RTX 5060 following a month later. Expectations are that both variants of the RTX 5060 Ti will debut concurrently. However, NVIDIA has yet to lock down specific launch dates.
What’s particularly interesting is how the timing might align with AMD’s RX 9060 series launch. The RX 9060 XT and RX 9060, which sport both 8 GB and 16 GB variants, are direct competitors to NVIDIA’s offerings. Although specific dates for the RX 9060 series remain under wraps, they’re also anticipated in the second quarter.
For those curious, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is set to step into the shoes of the RTX 4060 Ti, boasting 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 180W TDP. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is poised to succeed the RTX 4060, equipped with 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. Notably, a leaked version suggests a 12 GB VRAM option for the RTX 5060, though not officially confirmed, it could give NVIDIA an edge if RX 9060 only offers the 8 GB variant.
