Fireproof Games, known for creating the acclaimed VR puzzle game “The Room: A Dark Matter,” has just released a new virtual reality experience—GHOST TOWN. Offering players a fresh adventure, this game is currently available for Quest 2 and Quest 3 headsets, and it’s set to expand to PC VR and PSVR 2 platforms later this year. Although it marks a shift from the well-loved “The Room” series, fans can still expect the captivating puzzles and richly woven narratives that the studio is famous for.
Interestingly, while GHOST TOWN delves into the supernatural, Fireproof Games has deliberately refrained from labeling it as a horror title. The focus is more on a blend of suspense and mystery, serving as an intriguing backdrop to its mind-bending puzzles. The studio proudly shares that GHOST TOWN has been in development for almost four years. It’s seen as a major leap forward, introducing fully motion-captured characters and promising an enriched gaming experience.
As players step into a recreation of 1980s London, they’re already applauding the game’s impressive visual quality, notably even on Quest headsets. Despite the absence of a confirmed release date for the PC VR and PSVR 2 versions, avid gamers can dive into the eerie adventure now on Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S, with the game priced at $30.
