Tango Gameworks, the Japanese developer, is mulling over the idea of a sequel to their 2023 hit, Hi-Fi Rush. While chatting with IGN, Colin Mack, the studio’s head, mentioned that they’re “thinking about” diving into this project, although he stopped short of officially announcing anything.
“We’re giving a sequel some serious thought,” Mack explained to IGN. “But we’re not quite at the point where we can say, ‘This is our next step.’”
John Johanas, who directed Hi-Fi Rush, chimed in saying, “A lot of us here at the studio have a real fondness for Hi-Fi Rush. It’s got our creative wheels turning, and right now, we’re looking at a bunch of possible directions we could take.”
Kazuaki Egashira, the project manager, weighed in on the studio’s evolving nature by pointing out that Tango Gameworks thrives on creating fresh experiences. “Hi-Fi Rush made a splash as a brand-new IP, but sticking to the same formula forever isn’t the way forward,” they remarked. “At Tango, it’s all about embracing new challenges. We aim to keep our developers at the heart of what we do, never losing that passionate spark.”
