If the tiny screens of current handheld devices haven’t impressed you, Tencent is stepping up with something new for those who crave bigger and better. Videocardz has shared that Tencent is unveiling the Sunday Dragon 3D One, a device that leans more toward being a portable console than a mere handheld. This gigantic gadget is packing an Intel Lunar Lake CPU and comes with an impressive 11-inch display, ready to take your handheld gaming experience to a whole new level—if you’ve got the strength to handle it!
The 3D One isn’t just about size; it’s powered by the Core Ultra 7 258V, which includes four P-Cores (Lion Cove), four E-Cores (Skymont), and the Arc 140V integrated GPU with eight Xe2 cores. From our detailed testing, we’re seeing that Intel’s newest Lunar Lake processors are keeping pace with AMD’s gaming performance, particularly when compared to the Strix Point (Ryzen AI 300 APUs). As for memory, it boasts 32GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, which is pretty robust for today’s demands, although it’s not upgradeable since it’s soldered directly onto the CPU. However, there is a mention of a “high-speed” 1TB SSD which, luckily, can be upgraded if you’re looking for more speed or space.
Interestingly, the 3D One might be the pioneer among Lunar Lake handhelds to land in stores this year—though it is still just a prototype for now, according to Videocardz. Its expansive 11-inch 2560×1440 display with a 120Hz refresh rate might even make it serve dual purposes as a portable laptop. On the other hand, GPD is preparing its Pocket 4 mini-laptops, but they max out at 8.8 inches. One of the coolest features of Tencent’s new gadget is its real-time eye-tracking technology, offering a glasses-free, 3D (autostereoscopic) gaming experience. Reports have shared that Tencent is refining games like Path of Exile, Blade & Soul, and Arena Breakout: Infinite to get the most out of this innovative tech.
Speaking of controls, the pre-installed setup includes Hall Effect joysticks, linear triggers, and two customizable buttons on the backside. Plus, these controllers are detachable, so you can swap them for third-party options—just ensure they fit well with the 3D One’s unique size. There’s also 100W fast-charging support, though the battery capacity details remain a mystery.
Admittedly, the 3D One throws conventional handheld design out the window. Handhelds are typically envisioned as ergonomic devices that you can wield for marathon gaming sessions without fatigue. Still, sometimes the standard small screens just don’t do justice to game visuals. While the 3D One is still in its prototype phase and might only see limited release due to its specific audience appeal, its ambition is clear: to redefine how we view handheld gaming.
