At last night’s Golden Joystick Awards, renowned voice actor Ben Starr, widely recognized for his contributions to Final Fantasy XVI, stirred the crowd with some pointed comments aimed at Sony. His gripe? The ongoing absence of a 60 frames per second patch for the beloved game, Bloodborne.
“It’s absolutely criminal that we don’t have an official version of Bloodborne running at 60 frames per second,” Starr declared, eliciting a mix of murmurings and grumbles from the audience. His use of the term “official version” was deliberate. Though Sony hasn’t released an update, it’s worth noting that Bloodborne has indeed been seen in action at 60 FPS. You might remember that just last year, Lance McDonald uploaded a YouTube video showcasing the game running smoothly at 60 FPS in 1080p, all without any upscaling or interpolation.

Originally launched for the PS4 back in early 2015, Bloodborne has yet to enjoy a slick 60 FPS experience on Sony’s current consoles. Despite an enduring chorus of fans clamoring for an update, Sony has remained tight-lipped, and the motivation behind their hesitance remains a mystery.
