David Haddad, who has been at the helm of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, is stepping down from his position.
According to Variety, JB Perrette, the CEO and president overseeing Warner Bros Discovery’s streaming and games division, broke the news to staff in a company-wide memo. Haddad’s impressive 12-year career with Warner Bros is coming to a close.
Perrette explained in his memo, “David has thoughtfully picked a time for his departure when the release calendar is not as packed. This decision is aimed at minimizing any disruption to our current projects and strategic goals, allowing the team to gear up for its upcoming blockbuster title with ease.”
Reflecting on his time with the company, Haddad expressed, “I am incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved together at Warner Bros. Games. It’s been a real honor to work on and develop our iconic gaming franchises. I will remain a passionate supporter of this talented team’s future work and look forward to embarking on the next phase of my career. I am truly grateful for my time with Warner Bros. Games.”
Haddad’s departure follows a challenging period for Warner Bros’ gaming sector, marked by setbacks such as the underwhelming performance of “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” which resulted in a staggering $200 million write-off for the company.
