Nintendo recently chose not to reveal the price of the Switch 2 during their much-anticipated Switch 2 Direct event on Wednesday. Instead, they opted to quietly include the $449 price in a news release surrounded by a flurry of other details, perhaps to soften the potential shock. They also unveiled a limited-edition bundle that includes a copy of Mario Kart World, priced at $499.99. By itself, the new Mario Kart sequel will normally cost $80.
Since Nintendo dropped these big price tags, we’ve seen a wide range of reactions online, including lively debates among friends in our personal group chats. Back in January, we speculated that the new console might come in at $399, and a substantial 57% of you were on the same page based on our reader survey. Interestingly, only 9% of respondents bet on a $449 price point for the Switch 2. So, here’s the big question: Is the Switch 2 worth $449.99 to you?
